ChemNova Technologies, Inc. was established in 1999 as a partnership between
Chhiu-Tsu Lin, professor of chemistry and Northern Illinois University. NIU support
University-Industry research collaboration through Technology Transfer Office at
NIU. TTO was created to encourage and nurture the development, protection and
market of university intellectual property
The company's "green technology" research earned Professor Lin and ChemNova 14th Annual Illinois Governor's Pollution Prevention Award, in 2000.
The coating technology of ChemNova initiate and develop the high quality coating product. Green Products Inc. Taiwan convert plastic into conductive surface (picture). GPI also provide the Chrome-free aqueous emulsion coating product (steel, material) on the market. Caterpillar Inc. became a big business partner of ChemNova since 1999. Caterpillar's Chrome-free single step in-situ phosphatizing coatings (ISPCs) improves the quality and protection of the surface of their heavy equipment in the serious weathering environment.
Green Product Inc.(Taiwan) is a partner company of ChemNova. GPI produces chrome free aqueous emulsion coating product with ChemNova's electrical steel insulation coating and anti-fingerprint coating on galvanized steel. One of successive example of chrome free coating is application for magnesium alloys. conductive sol-gel coatings are innovative for medium density firewood(MDF). The wood board can be coated powder method by application of ChemNova's conductive pre-coating.
